Colour blocking Sunday

I am not the person who is shy about wearing colours. Being more on the pale side, I am more drawn towards warm hues like reds, pinks, oranges and yellows. I also find it relatively easy for me to pair the above colours together. When I choose my outfit in the morning, I tend to start with one piece I want to focus on, and build everything else around it. Today it is all about this skort I scored recently. Skort was in when I was little. I thought it was the coolest thing! Being a little overly active, skort offered the best of both worlds. The look of a skirt (so yes, I am still girly) with the convenience of a pair of shorts (so I could run around wildly like a boy).
I also want to tell you that I had a few strands of highlights put into the top of my head. Having dark hair it is hard to tell from these pictures but I can assure you they are there (perhaps in the right lighting next time). I have became very comfortable sporting this "ombre hair" trend and really have no intention of changing it anytime soon. What is your new summer hair? Please share that with me, I would LOVE to see them <3

Mother Nature created colours, let us embrace them :)

Feeling a little French ladylike today

Funny story about this dress. My mother is a part-time (casual) teddy bear collector. It has became a habit for my brother and I to look for special bears when we travel (my brother lives in Australia). Early spring this year Starbucks came out with a limited edition bear who's dress is designed by Alice and Olivia. I instantly snatched one up for her. I won't be able to deliver this bear to her until later this year but I have sent her several photos to tease her! Last week I received a parcel from her and inside the box there is this dress. At first, I thought, wait a second this looks familiar! But I knew I did not own any dress that looks like this? Where have I seen it? As I walked into my closet and saw the bear I realized this is basically the same exact dress that the bear is wearing!  I will insert a comparison picture at the end of this post for you to see! Such a fun mother I have :)

p.s Have you been watching Fifa? Which team do you support?

Stripped dress curtesy of mum, Sam Edelman sandals (here in neutral colour), Coach mini Tanner bag (similar one in Rebecca Minkoff here) and Lindberg sunglassess
Here is my twin! I think she looks better in the dress than I do, haha :)
Thanks so much for reading! Have a fantastic week! <3

ASOS lemon lace skirt summer

Long time no "see" everyone! I was so busy and a little bit of stressed out at work. We had been planning to hire new assistant at work so there were loads of preparation work to do (e.g. write up job posting via different channels, selecting the right potential candidates, interviewing them and final selection). Right after that we took a 4 days mini holiday to go to South Dakota to visit Mount Rushmore (see photos on my Instagram on the right hand side of the page). I had such a wonderful time escaping the city life and be somewhere with big blue sky, open road and wild life! I saw bisons for the first time. We went to two different kind of caves (Wind cave and Jewel cave). We visited the Crazy Horse monument and I went to my very first rodeo show! We packed light so I only have some photos from my iphone which again you can see a few of them on my Instagram. Overall, we had a fun time exploring the "wild west". I don't mind going back again or perhaps try somewhere else for some horse back riding, camping and hiking in the future!
After I got back, my order from ASOS arrived and I am so glad to be able to wear more girly outfits again. I am on a skirt kick so I ordered three skirts from ASOS thinking I can always keep one and return two. Who am I kidding? I ended up keeping all three of them, sigh!
I hope you do stick with me. I will be back to my regular weekly (sometimes twice a week) outfit posting again! Happy summer :)

Colours clash with purple and green

Good morning (or evening) everyone. One of the best things about summer is wearing long comfy maxi dress with a bright cardigan. I decided to go on a colour adventure and bravely paired these two very bold hues together. I have never worn grass green and bright purple together so I hope I am not hurting your eyes through the monitor with them. Funny thing is later when I review my photographs I found out the background coincidentally kind of "match" what I am wearing.
Oregon is so green and lush during spring and summer time. This is also the best time to come visit. I am so spoiled to be surrounded by all of these beautiful trees and flowers sometimes I forgot to stop and appreciate what Mother Nature has created for us!
I hope you are having an awesome Friday and going into the weekend. My next post will be a little bit late as I am visiting Mount Rushmore in a few days. I hope to bring you back some awesome pictures. In the meantime, please follow me on my Insgram (kiwifashionblog, or click the link on the right side bar) for my whereabouts :)

Purple floral maxi dress and green cardigan both gifted from mum, Birkenstock sandals (similar ones here), Balenciaga anthracite City bag, Etsy stretch bracelets (purchased my from this seller) and New Zealand green stone pendent (old from family).
See you all in my next post :)

Sunday fun day with mustard yellow and Rebecca Minkoff

I want to apologise for my recent absence. Work has been really busy and we have been conducting interviews and staff schedule arrangement for work. The other reason being there is a big table tennis tournament coming up in less than a week so we have also been focusing on training.
On a lighter note, we have finally made it to summer. Although this outfit says nothing about "summer" I can assure you that summer has indeed arrived here in Portland (I later had to remove the jacket because the sun finally decided to come out). I will be heading to South Dakota soon in 10 days for a 4 day our door "adventure". I can not wait. I will get to go visit Mount Rushmore and doing a lot of outdoor activities! I am really looking forward to this break. Have you been to that part of the country before? Did you have any good experience to share with me? I would love to hear from you!
I am hoping in my next post I will be wearing something truly summer appropriate (like sleeveless maxi dresses and sandals). I recently also bought another pair of Birkenstocks (they were on sale and are in pink! How could I say no?). I will try to show you guys soon too! I hope you are all having a fantastic day and as always thanks so much for reading!

Rebecca Minkoff Made in New York mini MAC (similar here), Ash seanker wedge (other colours on sale here), Stella and Dot Phoenix pendent (here) and bracelet (here in peach and two other colours)
Beautiful early summer blooming in the down town Pearl district park in Portland. I was sneezing quite a bit however I can not deny my joy on the arrival of warmer weather :)
