Red and black

I have a couple of new-in things to share with you! First were these bright red waxed jeans by Rich & Skinny from Myhabit. I have never ordered jeans online without trying so for me this was considered risky. Luckily they fit me quite well despite the slight longer length (no worries I acn fold them for now). Second "new" thing today is my red lips. For those of you who did not know, I do not wear make-ups at all. I own 2 mascaras and 3 lipgloss but in most of the blog pictures (or in real life) I am mostly bare faced with just lipbalm on. My lip glosses are mostly nude or light pink. Thanks to my dear friend Amanda's suggestion, I decided to put some hue on my lips today. I went into the Nordstrom's Chanel make-up counter and asked for a good true red lip colour. The girl who helped me was very nice and let me try a few colours. We finally settled on the this (Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Exces). I post some close up pictures on my Instagram (kiwifashionblog) and so far so good. I think I will continue to wear this colour on my lips, me likey :)

Balenciaga Moto jacket in black (other colours here), DV by Dolce Vita booties (similar here), Mulberry medium Alexa bag (some on sale here with (hol10 code for 10% off) and Lindberg sunnies.

Teddy bear and bow bracelets by my friend MyBeautifulBags (her Etsy shop here)
Chanel stud earrings and necklace is a birthday gift from mum :)

Everyday workwear

I skipped one blog post this week due to my busier than usual schedule. I spent my day off on Wednesday at the salon getting my ombre hair re-touched. By the time it was all done, the sun had already disappeared.
I thought I would include a very "casual" blog post on what I normally wear everyday for work.I am a health professional so a blazer and skirt/pants combo are pretty "standard" for us. I like to mix things up with a bright accessory such as a scarf, tight, handbag etc. I am a girl who loves colours! You will probably never see me wearing head to toe black :)

Scarf by Alexander McQueen, booties by Vince Camuto (on sale here) and Rebecca Minkoff Mini Morning After Bag (more choices here)

Have a great weekend you guys! I will see you with "better" blog post next week :)

Puffer

Sunday is my absolute favourite day of the week. I get to sleep in (until 10am actually), take my time in the morning to get ready and have coffee and/or brunch with my love. Sometimes maybe we get to squeeze in some shopping afterwards especially if the weather is nice.
Today despite the sun was out bright shinning, it is still very cold. I decided to wear this puffy jacket mum got me in the beginning of winter and continue wearing these VERY comfortable Frye's riding boots I acquired a couple of weeks ago (last time in this puffy jacket can be seen in this post). One note about these boots, they are a bit difficult to put on my feet with the back zipper. I am hoping it gets easier as I wear them more often but as of right now, I need a bit of a help putting them on in the morning :p
What is your favourite activities on your day off like Sunday? Share with me :)

Frye's Melissa Button Back boots (on sale here), puffy jacket c/o of my sweet mum and Balenciaga City bag (get the collection from Hgbags here), YSL Arty ring (some more left here, rumours are they are being discontinued).

Winter staples

When it's cold and you have "nothing" to wear, I often think of the forever fabulous Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City......a fur (faux for not) coat over whatever she is wearing (see more pictures here). It instantly glam up any look, add warmth and just makes any woman feel better! (speaking of faux fur I need to find another vest before winter ends, any suggestion?)
What I had on was a simple cotton-T, knit vest and old jeans. Fur and riding boots......they look good together, right? No brainer!

Faux fur coat by Calvin Klein (exact same one on sale here), Uniglo cotton-T, Levi's ID fit jeans and Frye riding boots (get them on sale here), Balenciaga Anthra City bag (Work version here) and Lindberg sunnies.

Without the coat

Can't wait for my hair appointment next week! You probably will see one more post before you get to see my new hair, so stay tuned!

Spy chic

I decided to bundle up today. It is just too cold to be wearing anything fancy. Of course, who am I to complain? Alot of the places in the world are way colder than Portland but coming from warmer climate countries (New Zealand and Australia), I always am freezing my behind off!
This is one of the bulkiest coats I "borrowed" from my fashionable mother. I decided a skinny belt is necessary to prevent myself looking like a potato sac. Bright coloured accessory (scarf) is always a good idea to brighten up a dull outfit.
I probably don't look exactly like a spy but at least I am closer than I was before. Hat? checked! Sunnies? checked! A scarf to conceal my face? Kind of checked! Stay warm everyone!

Vince Camuto booties (black and brown both 50% off here), 7 For All Mankind coated jeans (I love this one too)

Fancy leg-wear

I have alot of stockings. During the winter time if I was not wearing long jeans, you will find me in skirt/shorts with stockings. I started off with the basic black and grey and eventually I felt comfortable enough to try the "busier" pattern. I was absolutely freezing while taking these shots. If you find my face looking kind of funny that is because I was trying to hurry back to the car before I passed out in the icy cold rain haha :)

On the side note, I am getting my ombre hair re-done end of this month. I think I want it to be slightly higher up to my face and making the colour more "honey-amber" like, what do you guys think?

Navy coat from H&M (bargain at $25), bag is by Rebecca Minkoff and YSL lapis Arty ring!
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (kiwifashionblog) to get more updates on my daily obsession!
Freezing face begins! lol

Thanks very much for reading! I really enjoy blogging and hopefully you have enjoyed reading my too!

Street look take two

Ever since I was wanting to try the street-look (beanie) style, weather has been at its lowest. Hey, it works out well. I mean, knit beanie is perfect for a chilly outdoor temperature, right? I recently bought a second pair of Frye boots. I have owned these black ones for two years and they are the best investment I have ever made. FYI, take them to your local shoe person (or Nordstrom shoe department) to put rubber soles for you, they will last forever and get better with use! Right now my second pair of Frye are getting their soles done so you will have to wait and see what do they look like!
How was the first week of 2013 like for you? My has been nothing but work (yawn). I am already planning on my next holiday trip hopefully in spring, what about you?

Turtle neck by Uniglo (on sale here), Stussy beanie (borrowed from photographer man), Frye boots (lust over these) and Balenciaga Coquelicot City (thanks to Julie from The Fashion Minx )

Start with some colours 2013

We welcomed 2013 with absolute freezing dry-ice temperature here in Portland! I hope you all had a relaxing and fun New Year Eve and New Year!
I am really into casual street looks these days. I have been admiring bloggers from afar who pull of the casual effortless street look so nicely. I thought I'd try it myself too. One step of the time, let's start with a beanie hat :)
Let me know how do you like this look? Should I dress even more casually? I do have another beanie with different colour I would love to style my outfit with, any suggestions on what one should be wearing?

Beanie from Gap (on sale here), bag by Rebecca Minkoff Monirng After Clutch (other colours here)

Looking forward to see what 2013 brings us! Stay positive! :)
